This is the first time trying onion from seeds and I must say the germination rate of these is fantastic! I don’t know why I’m surprised, every packet of seeds I’ve gotten from MIGardener over the past five years have done great.

In my area the Walla Walla is a coveted onion. They make fresh onion rings at the restaurants. I like to put these on my hamburger. I cook with the Walla Walla but they aren't good keepers. When I harvest them we use as many as possible fresh for about 2 months. Then I process them to the freezer for further use. My relatives line up to get some of these every year as well. I cook a lot so I use a lot of onions through out the year.

Growing in Iowa start them early for better results. Bought more this year.

Growing in Eastern WA state. Started indoors in late winter. Planted out early spring. Grew very large & juicy. Excellent cut into extra thick slices rubbed with oil and grilled. Also perfect in garden fresh hand cut salsa.
