Known for its impressive size and rich, sweet flavor, these tomatoes can weigh up to two pounds each, making them ideal for slicing and sandwiches. They have a deep pink to red color with a smooth, meaty texture and minimal seeds. Cherished for their low acidity and delightful taste, which makes them perfect for fresh eating and making sauces. Staking is required. Make sure to harvest before the pink color reaches the top of the fruit.
This is a lovely tomato! I started this one a little late last year, so I didn’t get many fruits, but what I did get were quite tasty, with a well balanced flavor. I have started many this year and look forward to a beautiful harvest. I’m growing extras to share.
...I did win the competition that I started with my fellow gardeners. I had six seedlings; kept two and gave the others away. My largest tomato was 1 lb 2 oz, and it was the winner amongst my friends. No one else got one pound, but mind you, it was a weird summer in Montreal. Will definitely have a second competition this year.
